Machinist / Fabricator

Department: Machinist Manufacturing 

Location: Dylan Aerospace - Auburn, WA

Salary Range: $22–$38 per hour

Position Summary

Dylan Aerospace is seeking a detail-oriented Machinist / Fabricator to support the production of precision, tight-tolerance aerospace components and assemblies. This role is responsible for safely setting up and operating equipment, following work instructions and quality requirements, and helping maintain efficient production flow in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate is quality-focused, mechanically inclined, and committed to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Safely operate manufacturing equipment and fabrication tools in accordance with company safety procedures.

• Set up and perform machining, fabrication, forming, and related production operations.

• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, routers, and manufacturing instructions to produce parts to specification.

• Load and unload parts during production and support secondary operations such as deburring, sawing, and finishing.

• Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify part conformance.

• Monitor part quality and machine performance, including tooling, burr development, chip evacuation, and coolant flow.

• Communicate machining, setup, tooling, program, or quality concerns to a supervisor or senior machinist.

• Accurately record labor, production, and process data in JobBoss or other ERP/MRP systems.

• Maintain accurate time tracking and work efficiently to meet production targets and schedules.

• Perform basic machine upkeep, including cleaning, chip removal, and coolant maintenance.

• Follow quality procedures, work instructions, and training requirements.

• Support continuous improvement, teamwork, and a safe, organized work environment.


Qualifications

• Experience in machining, fabrication, manufacturing, or a related production environment preferred.

• Aerospace or close-tolerance manufacturing experience is a plus.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and manufacturing instructions.

• Familiarity with machine setups, forming operations, and precision measuring tools.

• Basic computer skills and ERP/MRP experience preferred; JobBoss experience is a plus.

• Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work in a team environment.

• Ability to adapt, stay organized, and maintain productivity in a fast-paced shop setting.
